She was born in Germany in 1971. In 1991, she graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Serigraphy Program and in 1996, graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Fashion and Textile Design. In January 2002, she completed her postgraduate education in the Department of Textile Design with the thesis of “Printing Patterns in Today’s Children's Textiles”. Between 1996 and 2004 she worked as a designer for various private textile companies in Germany and Turkey and prepared a variety of dress collections. She has been working as a lecturer at Akdeniz University (SMYO) Department of Fashion Design. She participated in various national and international group exhibitions, biennials and triennials and presented papers in congresses and symposiums. The artist aims to express the dynamism of modernity by using mixed textile techniques and contemporary textile materials in her works and also continues her printmaking works from time to time. She has works in various official, museum and private collections. She writes a thesis on Proficiency in Art related to Archeological Textiles in Textile Main Art Branch of Fine Arts Institute of Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey.

Conceptual artworks explanation
Ebru Dikmen Varol, enlivens the reflections of bedeck textile pertaining to the antique culture, making use of mixed techniques and modern materials of textile. Taking into account the Turkish Geography she resides, the artist aims to establish a bridge between antique culture and modern-day culture.
